Historical Tour
CACD recently hosted a historical tour of the Linen Centre and Hillsborough Castle and Village.
The day began at the Linen Centre where participants enjoyed a presentation on the process involved in turning flax into linen. They also viewed demonstrations of spinning and weaving.
At Hillsborough Castle they were given a guided tour of this magnificent building.

The group viewed various opulent reception rooms and the Throne Room where presentations such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s award are made.
The group was then guided through the village passing through Hillsborough Fort and visiting the historic Church Of Ireland building.

Derek Crone then gave a presentation on the Flagship 12th celebrations held in Hillsborough in 2010.
